Self Published Art Book

March 31, 2010

Ha! Ha! Sorry, this puppy is no longer available… for now….. for top secret reasons.  Heh, yeah.  so….. that’s that.

Spectrum 17

February 3, 2010

One of my goals for the past year or so has been to submit work to the Spectrum art book. Lo and behold!… I finally did. I sent off two of my favorite pieces last month. Selected entrants for Spectrum 17 are to be notified by the end of February or sometime thereabouts.

It’s pretty exciting really. Regardless of the results, it feels good to follow up on a goal and put my art out there. You have to try right!

<<< No, not my art. That’s the cover to book 16.

Halloween 09

November 8, 2009

Halloween was good fun! Lots of wine, laughs, and well… fangs of course.

The Show

October 19, 2009

It was exhausting & exciting! We had a great turnout and there were some great costumes!

Photos & video up over at the show site.

Show Flyers

September 15, 2009

FRONT_sml copyWell, the first batch of flyers for the art show came in! I must say, I’m mighty happy with them. I know I’m not a super graphic designer  but I do try my best. I started out in a much darker direction, and then ended up going sleek & streamlined.

The cover photo was taken by Michelle Darensbourg. Aside from cropping, there’s no photoshop involved, it’s her original image. Michelle will have plenty more photos in the show. The ones I’ve seen practically knocked me out. Super, ultra, mega sexy stuff- I must say.

Save The Date!

July 21, 2009

I am putting together a group gallery show called NETHERWORLD. Mark October 16th & 17th down on your calender. More info is coming soon. I’m currently working on the show’s site/blog over at www.netherworldshow.wordpress.com

swankBeen working on plenty of fun, new stuff- but in Lou of posting any of it, I’m posting some really old comics. Here’s one from over ten years ago. It’s ridiculous and has no conclusion. I like it.

In other news, I’m pushing to have a swell book ready for the show. By ready, I mean that I’m hoping to have multiple copies available for sale. By book, I mean an art book/sketchbook. It will have both finished paintings as well as delightfully ridiculous sketches. I Just gotta keep bustin’ it out. Things are looking mighty promising so far… not a whole lot of time.

Painting With Rage

May 31, 2009

RageScreenShot-smlNo, I’m not painting while furiously clenching my teeth and fists. I’m using ArtRage. RhhaaA!. ArtRage is a cheap, downloadable painting program for Mac & PC. I love it because it’s so basic, or should I say streamlined. There’s not a million ways to do one thing. You just paint & draw. If you already use Painter, ArtRage will probably drive you nuts, but it’s a great tool for folks like me that have always used Photoshop & never really cared to get into Painter.

Anyway, I’m not writing a review here. I’m just excited about the work I’m doing using ArtRage. In fact I’m developing a book & planning a show based on the stuff I just started making. More info on that later.

Blog Stats

May 10, 2009

The last search engine words that pointed somebody to my site: “boobs and swords” LOL! I’m not so sure about the sword part though.

Update

April 6, 2009

I’ve got a bunch of sketches and a new challenge to post.  Hopefully I’ll get some stuff up by tonight.

I also won the  Heavy Metal themed MyFX Weekly Challenge!  Weeee!  It was a bit of a surprise, but I’ll talk about that and post the pic when I have more time.

Time Warp

February 12, 2009

Well, I’ve been plenty busy drawing, but I haven’t taken the time to scan much yet. To temporarily remedy my lag in blogging, I dug up something from the past. This crazy little scene is something I did well over ten years ago. The original is pen and watercolor on an 18×24 watercolor board. I still think it’s pretty fun.   That bridge must be magic.

A Little News

December 30, 2008

Well, here we are…  approaching a new year.  I just finished 4 years of Art-School, and all is well.  Sooo the question is… What’s next?   As far as the creative stuff goes, I’m pushing to finish the book I’ve been working on- as well as polishing up my portfolio.  You should also start to see some development on my Adventure Goat/Limestone project.  Yeah!
